After receiving an astronomically high quote to convert to gas, I'm wondering about this alternate approach.
I want to convert [this woodburning fireplace](https://imgur.com/a/67PgoSW) to gas, and completely tear down and revamp literally everything, because I don't like the look. I just had someone look at it, and they said that simply installing gas logs wouldn't work, and that the old firebox would need torn out and replaced. I told them to quote me on removing the stone, replacing the firebox, installing a vent free fireplace, and leaving it unfinished because I don't really know yet what tile or stone I want to go with. So it would be functional, just with concrete board or whatever surrounding it. So they came back with 13k, plus whatever it would cost to run a gas line over. This is too high for me, especially after I had assumed that I would be able to have a simple gas log installation. I was never really clear on why that wouldn't work; he did mention something about how the existing firebox isn't flush with the wall and sits too deep. Or maybe it was just the age and condition of it. So now I'm thinking of doing some of this myself, because I'm pretty handy, and very motivated to tackle this thing. I'm wondering if I could tear out the stone, stuff the old firebox with insulation, cover it up, then frame out for a linear a couple feet in front of the old one. I could theoretically do all that myself, as long as it's fine to just leave the old one covered up like that. And I prefer the linear look, along with it coming out a few feet because I'd like to add built ins eventually also. Any holes in this plan?2022 routine manufacturer maintenance guidance
We’re approaching 20k miles on our 2022 Sport and I’m wondering how all you Subaru owners find your routine manufacturer maintenance recommendations. I looked all through the book the dealer gave me and didn’t notice any manufacturer maintenance recommendations. Am I looking in the wrong place? Our other car is a 2006 Accord with just over 202k miles. That book had easy to find guidance (I’m still following). Hey all, my fiancee and I are looking to build a playlist for our wedding reception. With EDM being virtually the only genre that we listen to, we don't really want the typical classic pop songs that are typically played at wedding receptions because we don't really enjoy that type of music. With that being said, we are looking for more "mainstream" EDM songs that still appeals to a wide audience; we still want EVERYONE at the reception to like the music and dance, after all! Some examples I've thought of so far are I Took A Pill In Ibiza - Seeb Remix and I Want You To Know by Zedd. Please give any and all recommendations, thanks in advance!
